Geostorm or you may call it a hazardous endeavour by Warner Bros to make a typical disaster movie which was not able to meet the expectations of the audience. The movie revolves around a hot-headed character Jake Lawson. He heads the team who designs and maintains a complex climate controlling satellite system built by 17 nations to prevent climatic disasters from destroying mankind. Given to his hot-headed nature, Jake did not respect authority and thus was fired.

Three years later, they find an Afgan village of 300 people frozen to death, gas line explosions in Hong Kong causing high temperatures and other weird climatic disasters. The aberrations in the climate controlling satellite are called to question further arising the need for someone to fix the malfunction. Jake Lawson is sent back to space where he finds that the satellite doesn’t have any malfunction but some external entity is behind this, to bring an end to the world by a “Geostorm”.  He needs to fix that before the disaster hits the earth and destroys the existence of mankind.

This movie is best suited for the age group of 11 to 16 as it is filled with clichés and one could understand the plot after fifteen minutes into the movie. Nevertheless, a good performance was expected from the Scottish actor Gerard Buttler and Jim Sturgess who plays his brother but they were unable to deliver it. Even talented actors Ed Harris and Andy Garcia tried but couldn’t do much, courtesy weak storyline.

The only thing that came to rescue was the 4D element of the as one can feel the buzz in their seats and the halogen flicker while you watch some scenes. A hefty investment of $120 million in this multi starrer movie didn’t pay off. The climax of the story is unnatural and the movie is lined up with massacres coupled with meek storyline.
