This Diwali Golmaal again brings us a comedy marinated in goofy horror clichés, laughter, action, beautiful locations and much more.
A well thought-out experiment by our hunky comic director Rohit Shetty shifting to a new genre will surely give you some tickles.
This ability of Rohit Shetty managing so many characters in a single frame was commendable and the introduction of two new characters Tabh and Parineeti was seen providing balance to this humorous slapstick.
The movie is surely a successful attempt of director RohitShetty to recover from the damage he did with Dilwale. It is brimming with entertaining one-liners but the second half is a little humor-deficient.
The movie starts with Tabu's narration, a very subtle and gripping dialogue, in which she talks about how Ajay Devgn and all the other characters were in the same orphanage as her. She used to work there but somehow they all got separated.
Ajay Devgn who is a macho man whi ironically is scared of ghost and darkness which he demonstrates with his expressions. Parineeti who is new in the Golmaal series very soon becomes an extremely important part of the story as she provides control yet is a huge part of madness in the story. Shreyas Talpade is extremely entertaining as his character had a lisp. Arshad Warsi who plays Madhav is really good with a weird humor he brings to the character.
Talented veteran actors like Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishraand Nana Patekar were spot on with there comic timing but their role was restricted in just a cameo.
After the second half as the plot thickens and starts to reveal itself the film turns into an entanglement of clichés and a commotion of comedy with no big climax at the end. This movie plays tricks with you as it gets your hopes up with strong female characters and funny one-liners but brings you down with predictable twists and stretched story, courtesy of plot development.
This risky venture of Rohit Shetty outside his comfort zone proves to be neutral as this movie neither disappoints nor surprises you.
